This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to install Total Response Stand Alone (TRSA) for the first time or update the license for an existing installation.
Overview
A Total Response Support team member will provide you with a specific license key. This key is valid for all TRSA installations within your agency.
Prerequisites
Before beginning the installation, please ensure the following:
Windows Updates: Ensure all pending updates are completed.

Windows Features: Enable the following in your Windows settings:
.NET Framework 3.5
.NET Framework 4.8 Advanced Services
System Restart: Reboot your computer after enabling the features above.
First-Time Installation
Total Response support will provide a zipped (compressed) folder containing the TRSA package and your license key.
Download: Save the zipped folder to your C: drive. (Recommendation: Create a dedicated
C:\TRSAfolder).Extract: Right-click the folder and select Extract All.
Confirm Path: Verify the extraction destination and click Extract.
Run Setup: Open the extracted build folder and locate the setup file.
Install: Double-click the setup icon. In the InstallShield Wizard window, click Install.
Complete: Once the horizontal progress bar reaches the end, the TRSA icon will appear on your desktop.
Final Reboot: We recommend rebooting your workstation one last time after the installation finishes.
Activating the License
Right-click the TRSA icon on your desktop and select Run as Administrator.
In the pop-up window, enter the license key provided by Support.
Click OK.
The TRSA "Splash" screen will appear briefly, and the application will open.
Updating an Existing Installation
If you already have TRSA installed and need to update the license, you must perform a clean reinstall.
Uninstall: Go to Windows > Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
Remove: Scroll to Total Response SA, click the ellipses (three dots), and select Uninstall.
Reinstall: Follow the First-Time Installation steps listed above to reinstall the software and enter your new license key.
[!NOTE] Always ensure you are running the application as an Administrator when entering a new license key to ensure the changes are saved correctly to the system.
